Before/After

How can I determine which butt augmentation option is best for me?

Determining the best option for buttock enhancement involves a comprehensive consultation with a qualified plastic surgeon. They will assess your individual goals, body type, and medical history to recommend the most suitable approach, whether it's fillers, fat transfer, or butt silicone implants.

Fat transfer: If you have excess fat in areas like your lower back, abdomen, and thighs, the ideal choice for you will be the  fat transfer Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure.

Butt silicone implant: If you have a slim, athletic build with minimal body fat, the silicone implant procedure is good for you. I often combines the butt implant with a small fat transfer to achieve smoother and more natural-looking results.

Filler butt augmentation: This option is for slim and athletic patient who are seeking for a moderate improvement. The production will last around 1 year.

Will the transferred fat disappear after the surgery?

Like most fat transfer procedures, it's typical for around 30% of the transferred fat to be naturally absorbed by your body in your first 3 month after the surgery. The remaining 70% of the transferred fat will remain in the newly augmented area for the long term, providing lasting results.

Should silicone butt implants be replaced over time?

Yes, silicone butt implants are generally recommended to be replaced or considered for revision surgery over time, typically around every 15 years. This helps ensure the continued safety and effectiveness of the implants. It's essential to consult with a plastic surgeon for personalized guidance on implant maintenance and potential replacement.

Can I get a really big butt with implants?

Silicone butt implants can be a suitable choice for buttock augmentation. However, patients must understand that they won't have control over choosing the implant size. The size of the implant is determined by the individual's anatomical gluteal muscle pocket. Oversizing the implant can pose a serious risk of compressing the sciatic nerve, leading to intense pain.

Can I die from a fat transfer BBL?

Fat embolism is a rare but serious risk associated with BBL fat transfer procedures. It occurs when fat cells unintentionally enter the bloodstream, potentially leading to respiratory distress, organ dysfunction, strokes, or heart attacks.

Fat embolism has been reported in cases where surgeons, particularly in South America, have performed fat transfers with a significant amount of fat. They injected fat directly into the gluteal muscle to achieve larger butt augmentations. However, this practice comes with significant risks, particularly due to the presence of numerous blood vessels, especially gluteal veins, within the muscle. Any damage to these vessels during the procedure can lead to fat entering the bloodstream and causing fat embolism, a potentially life-threatening complication.

The safe and proper fat transfer technique is to inject the fat only in the subcutaneous layer and never in the muscle.

It underscores the importance of choosing a skilled and experienced surgeon who follows strict safety protocols during fat transfer procedures.

Should I do babies before butt surgery?

A frequent question we encounter from women considering butt augmentation is whether they should have children before undergoing the procedure. This is an important consideration, as pregnancy and breastfeeding can affect breast size and shape, potentially altering the results of the surgery. Pregnancy can lead to natural changes in the breasts that might impact the aesthetic outcome of the augmentation. If you plan to have children in the near future, you may wish to postpone the surgery until after completing your family. However, if pregnancy is not planned for several years, you might choose to proceed with the augmentation.

When can I resume sport activities?

It's important for patients to understand that the recovery period can vary, and returning to physical activity should be a gradual process. Typically, light activities, such as walking, can be resumed within a few days post-surgery, aiding circulation and recovery. However, it's crucial to avoid strenuous activities, especially those that involve the chest muscles like weight lifting for at least four to six weeks. This allows the implants to properly settle and the incision sites to heal. High-impact activities, such as running or jumping, should be reintroduced slowly and only after one month after the surgery.

What are the risks of Brazilian butt lift - BBL?

Other risks include infection, bleeding, asymmetry, skin irregularities, and the possibility of dissatisfaction with the results.

The risks and complications associated with silicone butt implants include infection, implant shifting, capsular contracture (scar tissue formation around the implant), implant rupture or leakage, discomfort, visible scarring, and the need for revision surgery. Additionally, there's a risk of sciatic nerve compression if the implant is oversized.
